Hello!! Thank you for joining me, I'm Perrie, owenr of Mintilla and fascinated by the beautiful and majestic world of crochet amigurumi!!

I love to design imaginative animals and quirky dolls from some of my digital illustrations.

Many of my designs begin with rough sketches that  develop through my digital illustration and are bought to life with my favourite cotton yarns such as Paintbox, Patons and DMC Petra to name a few!

After crocheting for nearly a decade and previously making little goodies for friends and family , Mintilla was launched in March 2019 after working more on pattern designs from my illustrations. Since then my home-based studio has massively grown, and I also regularly supply home decor items to a brick and mortar shop.

Although my background is in healthcare, I am also a qualified tutor and have enjoyed teaching creative arts and crafts to groups in the community. I am hugely passionate about sharing my skills and making people smile with my work and I hope others enjoy my designs as much as I do creating them!!

The inspiration

I had always been creative from a young age, sewing, making things from wood or grass dolls in my grandparents garden. After studying textiles in secondary school, my creativity became more of a hobby and took a back seat.

Only much later during university, I was teaching arts and crafts in the community and would experiment with different skills to teach in my sessions. I taught myself crochet and fell in love with the therapeutic benefits after a long day. In 2018 I expanded on this studying illustration with London Art College and both my crochet and illustration eventually became entwined!

I am inspired by almost anything; animals in the park, a story without images, the world around us is all the inspiration we need! I now work remotely from my home based studio which has grown in size over the past few years and is expected to expand further!!
